Memorial Day means honoring our veterans, flying Ol’ Glory, and, of course, eating grilled food. Lots of grilled food.
Ribs. Hot dogs. Burgers. Grilled corn. Smoked sausage. BBQ chicken.
Of course, we throw in other goodies like potato salad, slaw, and an overload of desserts. In honor of all that good eating, I’m sharing a few recipes with you today. I hope you enjoy a fabulous kick-off to the summer season!
90 Oreo Cookies
3 (12 oz) tubs Cool Whip, thawed
1 1/2 – 2 cups milk
chocolate sauce if desired
Dip 30 Oreo Cookies in milk one by one and lay flat in a 9×13 pan. Spread one tub over the Oreos. Repeat this process 2 more times, finishing with a layer of Cool Whip on top. If desired drizzle chocolate sauce on top, or extra crushed Oreos. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 6 hours or overnight.
- Stuff the burger patties with your favorite cheese for an explosion of melted goodness when you bite in!
- Add dry Ranch dressing mix to the ground beef before grilling. Flavorful!
- Add 1/2 pound ground hot pork sausage to the ground beef before grilling. Juicy!
As you eat all of these calorie-laden dishes, remember it’s bathing suit season, so small portions are key!
