Did you know that Mountain Lake Church’s food pantry has provided for 773 families or 2574 people so far in 2011?
However, we currently do not have enough food on hand to feed people on the next pantry day December 7th. So, I’m asking my local friends to partner with me. Bringing 1 or 2 items could greatly help the families we are assisting. All non-perishable items are accepted and used, but we most need the following items:
Cereal (hot and cold), Hamburger Helper, Tuna Helper, Macaroni and Cheese, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, canned fruit/meat, pasta sauce, canned soup, peanut butter, jelly, pancake mix, syrup, rice, and instant potatoes.
As you do your grocery shopping this week for Thanksgiving, would you consider spending an extra $5 to donate some of these items to our food pantry? Parents, you can even make it a teachable moment for your kids by giving them the cash to pick out what your family will give to help others in need.
You can drop off your donation to the Food Pantry Bin located in the lobby at MLC during any weekend service, or if it is more convenient, deliver it to the church office anytime Monday through Wednesday this week.
Thanks in advance for your generosity!
