Sunday Summaries: We the People, wk 2

This weekend was one for the records books at Mountain Lake Church.  Our Worship Team launched a choir.  Did choir robes just come to your mind? Well, banish the thought.  Our choir wore jeans and black shirts – standard dress for the modern church, it seems.  And, they led worship.  Well.  They brought energy and authenticity to the stage in a new way.  Watching regular, everyday people praise God as they sang, lifted their hands to Him, and smiled in their enjoyment of the moment…..well, it gave the rest of us permission to do the same.

Our church family worshiped God this weekend, and I’m incredibly thankful for the heightened focus on God.  Good stuff.  But, our weekend didn’t end there.  My hubby continued the We the People message series with what could be one of my favorite MLC messages ever.  My favorite quote?  Here it is:

“It is better to eat burgers, chips, and Oreos with friends than to eat broccoli alone.”

There’s deeper meaning to that statement, but you’ll have to click here to discover it for yourself.  So, grab a cup of coffee (or a Salted Caramel Frappuccino, if you’re like me) and let God speak to you.  And, if you were one of the many MLC Choir members, this weekend……thank you for leading so well!
