For us here in Forsyth County, Ga the Thanksgiving break begins this afternoon. Yep, that’s right, we get an entire week off of school. So, the Lovejoy clan is making the most of our time by visiting with all of our extended family – the Greene’s, the Lovejoy’s, the Camp’s, and the Fincher’s. We’ll cook, eat, take pictures (I’m planning at least one wardrobe change!), play Nertz (a completely addictive card game), and tackle those insane Black Friday sales. We’ll even do a little 4-wheeling through the creek.
Before all the fun can begin, though, pressure washing, dusting, vacuuming, raking, and even a few repairs need to happen. So, Shawn, my hubby who absolutely LOVES a honey-do list (insert sarcastic tone), is pulling out the tool box today. Together, we’ll get this place sparkling and family-ready. Maybe I’ll reward him with a trip to Panera Bread for lunch. I’ve got a gift card that’s burning a hole in my pocket. Maybe he work harder and happier if he knows a treat is coming. I’ll let you know if it works.
So, what are you doing to prep for the holiday week? My suggestion for a SharpenHer moment? Work together as a team with your family to get ready. Don’t let stress rob you of all the fun next week offers! And, if a faucet is still dripping or the turkey is a little dry, no one will really care.
